Another all-church letter going out today. Here's the sneak peak:
Dear THBC Family,
I wanted to personally thank you for investing in one another during this pandemic. As I have called and checked in on people, I continually hear about others who are reaching out and doing the same. A number of you have personally connected with my family as well, and I am so very thankful for the ways that you are living out our motto, “A Family For You”. Keep it up!
The purpose of this communication is to let you know about two new exciting ministry opportunities we have for you in light of our current situation.
First, we will be launching a grocery and pharmacy ministry with an emphasis on those who are more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus – those over 60 years of age and those with pre-existing medical conditions (heart or lung issues, asthma, etc). We have people lined up who are willing to place an order for you at a grocery store, pick it up, and deliver it right to your door. You would simply need to contact the church office saying you are in need of this service, call/email your grocery list to the office (and specify which store/pharmacy you prefer – Meijer, Walmart, Family Fare, etc.), and we will place the order and set-up a time for pick-up and delivery. We would then contact you about a delivery time, as well as provide you with the cost of your order.
If you are able to order and pay online on your own, you could simply contact us, and we will work out the pick-up and delivery time. This would be preferred if you are able. Otherwise, if we order and pay for you, you can pay for the order at the time of delivery. (Please make checks out to THBC.) If you have any questions about this service and how it works, please contact Pastor Andy or Dan Peterson (231-920-0062).
Secondly, we are launching online giving through Planning Center Online. This is a fairly simple and secure way for you to give your tithe online. You can give a one-time gift, or set it up so that it is a recurring gift. (We do plan to keep this service.) You can give in one of three ways:
• On the web, go to templehill.churchcenter.com/giving and fill out the required form. You will have to enter your information. If you are using an ACH transaction, they will ask you to verify your bank account by placing two small deposits in your account. When those are posted, you simply enter those amounts to verify your account and you can proceed with your giving. We will also post this link on our website so you can give from there.
• On your smartphone, you can download the “Church Center App”. Simply search for our church “Temple Hill Baptist Church”, and then you can give directly from your phone. You can also use this app to sign in your children on Sundays via our electronic child check-in. It’s real easy to use.
• Or you can simply text to give. Text the dollar amount you want to give to “84321”. From there, it will direct you to a link where you can set up your account and payment information there. Once you enter that the first time, you don’t have to enter it again.
If you have any questions about the online giving, you can contact Pastor Andy.
Thank you again for your willingness to serve and to give during this time. While it is a unique time for us, it is nothing new to God. He will continually work through this pandemic to point people to Himself. There’s no better reason to keep on ministering than that!
