Awana is a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. Awana Clubs International supplies programs, materials and training for more than 12,000 churches in over 110 countries. Their message to churches is simple: We’re here to serve you with a ministry that is all about fun with a purpose to win and grow kids for Christ!|
Reaching our young people is very important. Did you know that 85% of all people who do not accept Jesus Christ by the age 18 never will?
That’s why Awana offers a series of clubs and programs geared to the needs of a particular age or grade. As a vital part our local church ministry, Awana clubs and programs effectively reach young people with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Here at Temple Hill Baptist Church, our Awana ministry works with other ministries to give our children and youth a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him.

6:00 pm: Women’s Evening Bible Study – On Tuesday evenings February 28th through May 2, 6:00 PM-8:30 PM, we will be using Kelly Minter’s book “Encountering God: Cultivating Habits of Faith Through the Spiritual Disciplines,” along with Kelly’s teaching videos. This Bible study includes 6 weeks’ worth of homework which we plan to stretch into approximately 10 weeks of study and meetings. These 6 spiritual discipline topics will be covered: study of God’s Word, prayer, expressions of worship, quiet & solitude, simplicity, and fellowship/serving in community. Instead of being just one more thing on your to-do list, you’ll find that these habits of faith can actually create more margin in your life- providing peace and rest as you walk closer with Jesus. Please sign up by February 12th to have your book ordered by the office. Book cost is $12. This study will be led by Kim Brubaker, Bonnie Alworden, and Melinda Graf. 6:00 pm: Women's Fall Evening Bible Study – On Tuesday evenings September 13th through October 25th, 6:00-8:30 PM, our study is from the book What Matters Most, by Karen Ehman. We will learn from the apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians, how to discover contentment and joy in the midst of trials, disappointments, temptations, fractured friendships and financial hardships. On Wednesday mornings, September 14th through May 3, 23, 9:30-11:00 AM, we will begin a study on the book of Acts. |

7:30 am: Men’s Fellowship and Prayer – Men’s Ministry at THBC is done in service for the Lord first and foremost, God’s man learns how to apply God’s Word to all areas of his life. This type of conversation about applying the Word happens all the time within the group and we allow the scripture through the Holy Spirit lead us in that walk. Everyone has such an important role in our growth as men and we recognize we are different in many ways so encouragement, listening, sharing, compassion, serving and praying for one another is vital in our walk. It is also essential to allow room for accountability within the men’s ministry for the purpose of consistency and obedience to God’s Word (James 1:22-25; Ezekiel 33:30-32). What do you think? What are we searching for? What is our commission? Is it something you need or something you can offer, or better yet both. Come and join us to see what the group is about. |
9:30 am: Worship Celebration – Come and bless the Lord through worship Sundays beginning at 9:30 am. 10:45 am: Growth Groups – Ephesians – an interactive group focused on the preaching series - led by the Ministry Board in the adult loft 6:00 pm: Youth Group Morph Sundays – Our goal is to help students grow in their faith, to partner with parents to help students “transform” or Morph, into the person God has called them to be! God has a purpose and a plan for each one of us, and He shows us his plan through His word, through other brothers and sisters in Christ, and through a healthy prayer life! We want all students to be able to discover Gods will for their lives! Our prayer is that we can help encourage that each night at youth group and special events! |
